    Market Commentary - Pre Session

    Domestic bourses are expected to start the day on flat note on Friday amid subdued cues from the Asian peers.

    The changes in the index constituents of FTSE will be effective from today, which are set to trigger movements in individual stocks. Key additions among Indian stocks include HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Tata Consumer Products, Adani Greens, IGL, SBI cards, and Balkrishna Industries are some of the other stocks to be added.

    Besides, investors will continue to track newsflow regarding India-China tensions as well as the Covid-19 trends.

    On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 38979.85 down by -323 points or by -0.82 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11516.1 down by -88.45 points or by -0.76 %.

    On the global front, US stocks fell on Thursday as technology-related shares slid for a second day and as government data showed high levels of weekly jobless claims.

    The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 130.4 points, or 0.47%, to 27,901.98, the S&P 500 lost 28.48 points, or 0.84%, to 3,357.01 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 140.19 points, or 1.27%, to 10,910.28.

    In Asia, shares were flat to negative in Friday's early deals Australian ASX 200 declined 0.22 per cent in early trading. Japan’s Nikkei was flat, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index dipped 0.3 per cent.

    Back home, Top traded Volumes on NSE Nifty – Tata Motors Ltd. 48119523.00, State Bank of India 41226058.00, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. 38033703.00, ITC Ltd. 33936149.00, Wipro Ltd. 26811653.00, On NSE, total number of shares traded was 192.33 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 51000.59 Crore.

    On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 407780 with a total turnover of Rs. 27461.59 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 772172 with a total turnover of Rs. 59216.39 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 56460334 with a total turnover of Rs. 3712393.59 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 1282989 with a total turnover of Rs. 108809.97 Crore.

    The FIIs on 17/09/2020 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 5042.82 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 1103.23 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 4547.42 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 890.41 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 495.40 Crore and Rs. 212.82
